Daniela Paraguya Sow (she/her) was born in New York City, New York, and she was raised in Angeles City, Philippines, and in various cities in Southern California. She and her family currently live in San Diego, where she serves as an Associate Professor of English at Grossmont College. She holds a BA in Literature with a minor in Women Studies from University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from San Diego State University. Passionate about spoken word poetry, she has formerly competed at the National Poetry Slam. In 2022, she was selected to be a participant in AWP’s Writer-to-Writer Mentorship Program (Season 17 cohort), working with poet-mentor Gustavo Adolfo Aybar. Her writing has appeared in Mixed Asian Media, The Plentitudes Journal, The Hyacinth Review, The Lumiere Review, Sky Island Journal, The Headlight Review, Porch Literary Magazine, and elsewhere.
